And so it happened, Sloan had her first big girl sleepover. I don’t know why it did not occur to me until the morning to snap some photos of the momentous moment, what was I thinking?! Let’s just blame it on the good ‘ol “pregnancy brain.”
Miss Avery came over with her little suitcase packed; a girls slumber party is not complete without princess dresses, special blankets and a stuffed furry friend. The night was filled with BBQ, a movie, popcorn and chocolate peanut butter banana milkshakes.
Thankfully, we had just upgraded Sloan to an official “big girl bed” just last week so there was plenty of room for both girls. They slept through the night (thank goodness!) and were early to rise (630A on a Saturday!)
In the morning we celebrated the success of our first sleepover over donuts and cereal followed by lots of playing, giggles, and fun!
For some, you might be thinking “what is the big deal? it’s a sleepover?” My fondest memories growing up were the nights our house was filled with 6+ girls; we were all piled on the couch, wrapped up in blankets, watching movies, eating junk food, and spent all night giggling.
My heart beams with excitement for Sloan, for all the exciting adventures yet to come her way as she grows up. This is only the first of many to come, I am sure.
