Hello friends and family! I know things have been quiet for a while (let’s be honest, it has been over a year!) For that I apologize, sometimes things such as blogging need to take a back burner to life. However, I am really excited to announce all of the recent changes for our little family. In my last post, we had just welcomed little Lucy into the world. Today, she’s a walking, talking (sorta), lovable toddler.
A year ago we lived in Washington state and we had our own house. Today? We live in Virginia, own 11 acres in “horse country”, are embarking on a custom build and live in the basement of our relatives home. Yes, life has changed for us and drastically.
In June, we came to visit family in Virginia. We only spent a brief amount of time here but immediately fell in love. Somewhere between driving the rural country roads and exploring the small town centers we knew this is somewhere we could see ourselves settling down. Then it happened, after flying back home to Washington, we found it. We searched online for a lot of land to potentially call our home and it was instantaneous. Our first time actually seeing it in person? The day we signed the paperwork. We sold our home (in 48 hours), packed our things and relocated 2K+ miles leaving the majority of our friends and loved ones behind.
Yes, things moved really quickly, and yes, it probably looks absolutely crazy. It also was not easy and there has been an adjustment period. We definitely miss our family, our favorite spots to go and play and the comfort of having our own home. But this is where we are, our new adventure and our challenge to grow and explore in a very new environment. I cannot wait to begin documenting the build, the farm and our lives here in Virginia.
Happy to be back in the blogging world!
