Chickens! (it was fate I tell ‘ya!)
A few weeks ago, I was wandering around the local store and spotted a chicken coop for sale. An oh-so-adorable, cedar chicken coop. [My first thought was “well, I guess you are living out in the country now, seeing a chicken coop at the store is about to become your norm.”]
Then the following weekend, I stopped by the local feed store to pick up some weed killer. [yes – i love doing my own lawn care!!] When I walked in, I heard the most silent, sweet little peeps. Instantly, I followed the noise and found six bins full of baby chicks!
I knew it was fate, first the chicken coop and then spotting the chickens. My poor husband didn’t know what was coming!
Needless to say, we are now the proud owners of four baby chicks! We have three Blue Cochins and one Ameraucana [We just named her Fred! She is my favorite, she will lay green and blue eggs in about four months!]
They are currently indoors under a heat lamp. I will be designing and building their chicken coop soon, so be sure to stay tuned!
